Biography: Kristen was born and raised on Long Island, New York, where she quickly grew to love all things creative. At a young age, you could find her making up songs at her Grandmother’s piano, choreographing dances for her friends and younger sister, singing to her favorite record, “Annie,” and drawing in her sketchpad. She started piano lessons at 8 years old, and by high school she was opting to take extra classes so that she could study both art and music.
Her first experience as a performer was as an accompanist for a school production of “The Wizard of Oz,” but she soon found that her true passion was to be on stage herself. What followed was a string of acting and singing roles in community, school, and regional theaters. She studied piano, acting and stage design at Stony Brook University as a freshman college student, and then continued her studies at Five Towns College where she was introduced to the world of jazz.
